This article is about Southwest Airlines starting the process of having Internet service available for passangers who have their own Wi-Fi-enabled laptops. One downer of this great news is that you might be limited to what websites or applications you can access. But, the good news is that this service would be very consistent. It is mentioned in the article that the connectivity would work just fine, even over water.
I think it's great that passangers will be able to access the Internet on their labtops while flying. A huge majority of people have to travel for business purposes, and it would be convinient for them to work on their project, presentation, or any last minute things they need to do on their laptops. Furthermore, this can be useful to students who for example go on vacation during a semester and need to use the Internet while on the plane (maybe finish some homework, e-mail group partners, etc.). Overal, I think it would be great to be able to access the Internet while flying.
