The deadline to stop selling PC's with Windows XP is June 30th 2008. Hewlett-Packard and Dell will take advantage of a "downgrade right" that was offered as part of Windows Vista. This right will allow them to sell PC's with Windows XP well beyond the June 30th deadline. These machines will come with and option to upgrade to Vista for free if the customer would like to do so. These PC's will be allowed to be sold until June 30 of 2009.
