Virgin Atlantic Airlines has recently acquired new information technology used to enhance their very important customers' overall experience. For example, Virgin employees now have access to customer information, flight data, and other details such as limo service. According to Virgin's IT Director Mike Cope, the system has greatly enhanced customer service in the areas it has been implemented in.
This whole information gathering revolution that's occurring in the marketplace today is a catch-22 in my opinion. On one hand, it increases the level of customer service, but on the other hand, the employees of the companies that you deal with on an everyday basis now have access to your personal information. Scary thought...
