Recently, Stanford scientists developed a type of lithium ion battery that can last for two days! The new technology incorporates silicon nanowires into rechargable lithium ion batteries and extends the life of the battery from 4 to 40 hours. This new breakthrough is said to be incorporated into many of the highly popular mobile devices which need long battery life, such as ipods, iphones and videocameras. The new breakthrough is still in the testing stage since the concept is fairly new, so there is no expected date it will be released.
