Disposable DVD?

Maybe some of you have heard of this before, but I haven't. A German company, DVD-D Germany Ltd, is releasing its new line of disposable DVDS. In german they are called "Einmal" (that's German for "once"). The DVD's are coated with a chemical that reacts with oxygen becoming corrosive in 48 hours. The DVD is then worthless and nolonger useable. The company boasts the DVDS are recyclable, yet enviornmentalists still dislike the blatant waste. Besides being enviornmentally wasteful the DVD's cost anywhere from $4-$6! The consensus is that the whole operation is a huge rip-off. But, if you'd still like more information of when the DVD's will hit the states, check out the website
