I have made the point before that the Windows operating system series are more vulnerable than Mac-related operating systems because there's a larger userbase using Windows... Well in terms of security Windows is definitely always under attack, but look at its standardization. This article deals with a very important aspect of MIS, that is the cost-effectiveness of implementing a new software component into an already existing information system. The experience of this CTO, or chief technology officer, explains how he made his engineer department switch from Windows to a Mac operating system environment with major consequences.
Some of the consequences I find most interesting is the software compatibility conflicts between converting between Windows and Mac based software. Since not all the computers were converted to Macs, in order for the engineer team of the company to make presentations to the rest of the company they had to constantly convert files back and forth between Windows and Macs... Interesting article, very interesting read.

I kind of disagree with this article. It seems as this is more of a problem with the Operating System than the computer itself. People can just run Windows on a Mac if they really want to. Use the boot camp software. Articles like this seem unimformative because they are very one sided. Solution to this - instead of "ditching the mac" install windows on your macs and run both windows and OSX. Sounds good to me.
You would still have file conversion conflicts.
A better solution than Bootcamp is virtualization.
