It's Too Darn Hot

http://www.businessweek.com/magazine/content/08_13/b4077060400752.htm?campaign

Ever wonder why as technology improves we still get computers that produce the same amount of heat, or even more heat, than computers we had a decade ago? This article from businessweek focuses on the energy crisis experienced in technology currently and how to cool down all those database servers that we just covered in our second exam (the information structure chapter, chapter 6). Interesting read because to me it seems like technology improves but we still cannot find ways to reduce heat created when running a computer. With Intel's new Atom Processor, you don't even need to put a heatsink on the processor, it runs perfectly fine without one!

I thought this was a really interesting article. Im seems like a logical and cost effective idea to use the enviornment to do the work for the company, as opposed to having a data company in southern California, where there is high enery costs and higher demand.
