The CERN, a European Organization for Nuclear Research, has apparently been developing a new super fast internet which will be 10,000 times faster than our current version. They call the project "the grid" which is built on top of fiber optic networks and uses modern routing centers. The researchers have been able to achieve speeds never seen before. Traffic will be kept separate from current phone and data systems. The system connects from CERN to 11 centers around the globe, and will be switched on when the Large Hadron Collider is activated, on what the group is calling "Red Button Day." This day is coming sometime this summer.
This new network with this type of speed will give us the ability to create many new futuristic capabilities like holographic video conferencing, realtime video streams, and really really fast one click downloads of your favorite pirated music and videos.
