It looks like sales for the Nintendo DS have dropped and are expected to drop even more. Nintendo predicts that sales could fall from 30.3 million to about 28 million. My reasoning for this could be that the improvements in the technology of phones and PDAs have had an affect on handheld game systems. There is so much more you can do with a phone on top of playing games that people have steered away from buying handhelds such as the DS. Why spend money on something that can only do one thing when you can get a phone that does multiple things.
