Researchers at the University of Massachusetts are developing a robot that can help the elderly in their homes. The robot has an LCD screen, a webcam, and a wireless connection to the Internet. The biggest value it can bring to a household is its ability to call for help if there is any kind of problem. The only thing I do not like about this invention is that it will take away some of the vital human interaction that the elderly are already in dire need of.
