Japanese phone company testing scent downloads

A major telecommunications company (NTT Communications Corp.) say that Japanses cell phone users are going to try out a new service to download fragrances on cell phones. Participants using Mobile Fragrance Communication can download files of specific scents with music or video clips. These scents can be downloaded from i-mode. This service uses a handsets infrared port to transfer the fragrance data to a device similar to a plug in air freshener. This device then mixes them to create the chosen smell. This company is also testing out a another device that can be connected to the internet so that a user can program a scent from a mobile phone.

That would be a fun idea. But with some of my friends I am sure they would find a way to send me something that smelt foul. Well I still think it would be funny! Cant wait till it comes out.
