Gadgets find lost items or find you

This $80 device lets you attach an olive sized transmittor to anything you want (such as your keys, ipod) and then you use the receiver to find out where you misplaced your items. The closer you get the faster the light goes. This device has a range of 500 feet outdoors and 100 feet indoors.

This seems like it could be helpful to people that lose their things often. I can think of a couple of friends who I could get this for. As for myself, I think this is a waste of money because I do not loose my items very often, so this would not be an item I would not purchase.
